It is the time of year where ghost and ghouls come crawling out. Each specter creating spooky sights. So to prep for this All Hollow’s Eve coming and the horde of trickster visit my haunted steps of my home in hopes of tasty treats, I have complied the perfect Halloween playlist to get you into the mood.
October is domestic violence awareness month. Recently the podcast at my university, PEP Talk, covered a local organization that assist those that are affected by domestic violence. They talked about how in the year 1994 that efforts were made to help prevent violence against women. Funding was made available and nonprofits were able to expand their operations. However, many still face the crisis of domestic violence. Examples of this crisis can be found in the Me Too movement that spread across the world.
If you are not from Texas or my hometown of Dallas, you probably don’t know who Amber Guyger is. You probably don’t know why her story has turned the city inside out or why the outcomes of her actions became a dark cloud over the city of Dallas that will not be erased anytime soon.

I know I have like at least 20 times. Each time I give a different answer because I have no idea what that kind of money is like.
How often has money clouded your thoughts? Has it made sad or happy?
Many think that if they had a little more money they would be happy. I see this especially true in my family. My grandmother grew up in the Great Depression in America when money was an item that one would scarcely come across. She spent her youth pinching every penny and dime that she could to feed and care for her family. My mother and father worked multiple jobs while studying in college to pay tuition and bills. So the feeling like there is never enough money is a familiar story to my family history. However, I recently learned that the money after a certain point does not make you happy.
ollege is a transitional phase most go through in their life. However, it is a constant juggling act. You have to balance your personal life with school and work. It can be very stressful. I often makes one say, “I can’t adult today” meaning that they are struggle to reach the real world expectations they carry around. Guess what? You are not alone. I have muttered these grumblings occasionally too. It is ok to feel like this. As I get ready for midterms at college and upcoming job interviews, I can’t help but feel the stress. We can’t ignore the fact at some point in our lives we have felt the grip of stress pressing upon us. It can tear you up inside if you aren’t prepared to handle that stress. Dog have grown beside man over a millennium. Our evolution and their evolution are closely tied together. However, we lack some simple understanding. Now, I include myself in the circle of those that sometimes doesn’t understand what my dog is feeling or saying. I even volunteer with a humane society and still have the occasional misunderstanding between me and the dog I am working with. (It is easier to misunderstand a dog that you don’t know very well than one you do.) So how can man understand dog better?
