I have to say there are some things that have surprised me while I have worked as a tutor. It is one of the most fulfilling jobs I have ever had. The Everything Guide: Writing Your First Novel

One of my goals for the year has been to improve my writing. It may seem like a lofty goal, but there are thousands of books about writing in general. One of my favorite books that I have used in helping improve my writing is the Everything Guide to Writing Your First Novel.

I think the best advice is how to format your writing presented within the book. It explains different plot structures that authors can use to write their ideas into a full story. It also offers ideas on character creation, which is an important element to story telling. Each aspect of writing is written with details and simple language for anyone to understand. The guide is easy to use and laid out in a logical manner for the beginners.

Plead to My Readers: COVID Scare

I recently went through a scare I never thought that I would. I was told that I was possible positive for COVID via text. It wasn’t the message I was expecting from my good friend, who I had visited the other day to watch movies with. My mind went blank. I was doing everything right since the COVID outbreak. I wore face masks and washed my hands. I constantly carried disinfecting solutions. I was safe. Or so I thought.

Guide to Conservation : Thanks Jane Goodall!

I recently got a subscription to the amazing classes on the Masterclass service, and immediately started Jane Goodall’s class on conservation. She was powerful and passionate. Her words impacted your heart and your mind. However, it was more than just her words that got to me. She offered so many resources and insights into how to help conservations efforts no matter where you are. In a city or in the jungles, there is something everybody can do to help the environment. Pandemic or no pandemic. She made it easy, and I am going to make it easy for you too. I am going to share with you the resources she shared with me.

Human Benefits of Participating in Agility

Agility is a rapidly growing recreation within the United States for dog owners. Agility is a dog sport that requires human handlers to guide their dog through an obstacle course. The goal in completing the course is to be the fastest team while collecting the least number of faults. There is a niche community built around the sport that ranges from avid competitors to hobbyist handlers that participate. Research in the sport of agility has primarily focused on the dogs that compete. This original research previously found that dogs gain many benefits from participating in the sport. One of the benefits for dogs is the improvement in their overall health. Since the agility is a team sport between dogs and humans, one has to assume if previous research has confirmed that the dogs in the teams receives health benefits then the human handlers must receive some benefits as well since they participate in completing the course with the dog. Research in this field of questioning the benefits of participating for the handlers only began in the early 2000’s, but is quickly expanding. This new research has presented strong evidence into the benefits in health for human handlers. These benefits in health for human handlers for participating in agility can be examined within the three different categories: physical, mental, and emotional.

The Last Love Poem I Will Ever Write: Celebration of Life and Language

I have a love of poetry and the beauty of those who can play/manipulate language especially when it pulls at your heart strings. However, not all writers have this talent to celebrate the English language and speak to the inner being of the reader. If the writer can’t do this then their work will fall flat, and lifeless. So when a writer has the ability to do complete this challenge, it needs to be celebrated.
