I was a big fan of Animal Crossing during my middle school years. I loved the cute little animal avatars and customized characters. There land changes with every day and each season. So when I acquired the latest edition of Animal Crossing: New Horizons I dived into the game with same eager I had back then.
Venice has the reputation of being a tourist run city especially in the summer. It seems like every year there is a new news report stating the ongoing battle between Venice and the tourism industry. So when I descended into the city of Venice, I was not surprised to see the throngs of tourist. But where were the locals? It seemed like each cobbled street led to more signs of the tourist industry in Venice. It was starting to feel like the Venetian hotel in Vegas, but a hop, skip, and boat ride away I found my piece of local paradise.
I grew up watching every detective show on TV, and loved them. I have rewatched so many episodes of NCIS and CSI: Las Vegas that I can practically recite some of lines by memory. Despite my adoration for a good cop show, I find that the same clichés are often repeated with new faces and new locations. It was hard to find excitement in another detective show, but I think I have found the cure to my boredom. Welcome to the stage, Death in Paradise.
