Crazy Delicious: Not Your Average Cooking Show

Food is not meant to be boring? Recipes and taste change from the drab forms of feasts from former years. They evolved into the things we know and love today. The evolution of culinary cuisine requires one to be crazy and the food to be delicious. Netflix decided to take this concept and make a cooking show around it.

Pastry Love: Not Your Mama’s Bakes

Flour is one of the top bakeries in the United States and the head baker, Joanne Chang, is a genius. Her understanding of flour and sugar leads her able to have inventive bakes that you can’t find any where else. If you don’t live near Flour like me, never fear there is one way to try her goods without stepping foot inside her bakery. I recently purchased her latest cookbook, Pastry Love. Pastry Love is filled with recipes from the bakery and a few of her personal favorites.

Food Wars: Becoming #1 Chef!

There is a super popular anime that has recently making waves within the world. What is this anime? What is it about? Why don’t I introduce you to the new most popular anime, Food Wars?

Somebody Feed Phil: Celebrate People and Food

It seems like food brings people together all over the world. It doesn’t matter the cuisine. Food fills hearts along with bellies. There is one show on Netflix that proves this to be true. Netflix has one show that proves this to be true. It is called Somebody Feed Phil.

La Casita Bakeshop: Masters of the Puff

Tucked away in a strip mall in Richardson, there is a bakery that has delicious creations. Creations come in different forms of pastry dough such as puff and normal dough. The treats are flavored with both savory and sweet tasting that can satisfy any palate. This magical shop is called La Casita Bakeshop, and you can only get treats on certain days and times.

Testing Recipe: Orange and Chocolate Challah

I love bread. It is the downfall for many of my attempts at getting more physically fit. However, I have rarely tried to make a sweet bread or shape bread into complex shapes such as a Challah bread. If you are unfamiliar with Challah, it is a sweet light eggy bread that many make during the holidays. However, I recently came across an Orange and Chocolate Challah recipe from Delish. It looked delicious. It looked pretty.  So, I decided to try to recreate this recipe with my amateur skills.

It went like this……

Giada’s Feel Good Food: Does it taste good?

I have tried several of her recipes from online, but this was the first time I have tried recipes she has published in her cookbook. I recently got ahold of a copy of Giada’s Feel Good Food, and was very excited to try the recipes. Was her cookbook good? Why not take a look?

How to Decorate A German Chocolate Cake

The only down side to a German Chocolate Cake is that the thick chunky icing doesn’t allow you to create the beautiful cake trends that you see online. I have come up with the solution for decorating a cake with chunky icing. My solution is very simple and anyone can do it.

Japanese Milk Pudding: Delicate Treat

There is one treat that I haven’t come across in the United States as often as I did in Japan. What is it? It is called Milk Pudding. In Japan, this can be found in any connivence store on any street. In the United States, you have to scour the shelves of the local asian market and pray that they have it. If you aren’t familiar with milk pudding, you are missing out on a delicacy.

Enoki Beef: Japanese Beef Rolls

With lockdown in place, new cookbooks are out of reach. However, new recipes are not. I found was scrolling through Pinterest when I came across a new Japanese recipe, Enoki Beef Rolls.

Enoki Beef Rolls is thinly wrapped marinated beef that is around Enoki mushrooms. I served this dish with Vegetable Stir-Fry and Jasmine Rice for a twist on the usual weeknight dinner I make. I used the recipe for Enoki Beef Rolls by Wander Cooks, which you can find here.
