I love caramel. It goes perfectly with apples, chocolate, coconut, or really any sweet. So I have been looking for an easy caramel frosting recipe for my celebration cakes. I recently tried the Caramel Frosting recipe from King Arthur Flour’s cookbook. The closest I have found their site to the recipe is the frosting from this post.

I recently found a little piece of France in Downtown Dallas. The cute little wicker tables on the sidewalk are an iconic reference to the little tables in Paris. But the flash back to Paris is not the only reason I traveled to Downtown, I actually was here for the sweet delicious treats.

Bisous Bisous Pâtesserie has an arrangement of French baked goods. That means delicious macaroons, tarts, cakes, and croissants. They also serve delicious cafe drinks to go with your sweet treat. An unique feature of the shop is that they also offer cooking classes so you can learn how to  make their delicious treats. The photos on Instagram looked so amazing. So me and a friend got a round of coffee and a tray of delicious treats to dine on.

Dessert is supposed to be just a sweet treat, but what if someone could change that treat into a work of art? Would you eat it? I think I would.

On Netflix, there is a wonderful cooking competition show called Zumbo’s Just Dessert. In this show art meets food. In Zumbo’s factory, contestants from Australia and New Zealand try to impress dessert chefs Rachel Khoo and the man himself, Zumbo.

Whole Grain Has Never Tasted So Sweet!: King Arthur’s Recipes for Whole Grain

A goal of the new year is to be healthier. One way that I hope to achieve it is by making healthier choices when it comes to my sweet treats. One way of doing that is to include some whole grains in your recipes vs. only using all-purpose flour. I turned to the flour company that I trust for my baking needs, King Arthur’s Flour Company.  I love the gingerbread cookie recipe I found on their site.
The company has an entire cookbook dedicated to the use of whole grain in recipes. It is called King Arthur Flour Whole Grain Baking. I have a sweet tooth so I decided to focus on sweet treats that I can make and hopefully change out for my regular baking treats.

The Italian Baker: Bringing A Little Piece of Italy into the Kitchen

This summer I got to spend a little time in the North of Italy in the cities: Venice, Florence, and Milan. I loved eating my way through the streets and finding the best eats. When I got back to the states, I decided to see if I could recreate a little piece of Italy into my kitchen. Thankfully after many afternoons in the local library, I found the recipe book that I was going to use to relive Italy with. It was called The Italian Baker by Carol Field. This book is jam pack full of recipes from every coast of Italy. These recipes were focused in on the wonderful breads, tarts, cakes, and other baked goodies. So who can resist trying a few?
