Breakfast is one of the key meals of the day. However, to only serve breakfast foods as a restaurant then you better have amazing breakfast dishes. Snooze A.M. Eatery in Dallas is just that kind of restaurant.
Breakfast meals at my house needed a revamp. Not the same classics over and over again so we decided to try out this breakfast innovation from King Arthur Baking Company called Doughnut Muffin. It is kind of like a muffin. It is kind of like a cinnamon cake doughnut. It is the sweet treat creation that I did not know that my breakfast needed.
I love my bagel in the morning with cream cheese, but even I need to change up my morning routine sometimes. I did this by trying a new bread recipe for my morning treat that I discovered while flipping through old magazines that I had saved. The photos looked scrumptious and made me hungry for a slice. With my stomach’s agreement, I picked up the Raisin-Pecan Rye Bread recipe (which you can find here) and gave it a try. Just look at the photo on the left to see how my attempt went!
Easter has many traditions from searching for hidden eggs to attending church with family. However, in some parts of the world Hot Cross Buns are a special Easter treat. It graces their breakfast tables and as afternoon snacks. I have to say this is not a personal tradition for Easter, but why not try a new bake. I might even be making a new tradition for my family.
I am not the biggest lover of donuts. I love the classic cinnamon, sprinkles, or chocolate. I am picky. The best is when they come from a local place like the corner shop that is still run by the same family for generations. However, I decided to venture a little further from my local corner shop on my most recent donut hunt.
It seems like every cookbook or recipe box has the same version of the classic American dessert recipes. So how do you spice up or change such classic recipes to make them special or reimagined?
