Pastry Love: Not Your Mama’s Bakes

Flour is one of the top bakeries in the United States and the head baker, Joanne Chang, is a genius. Her understanding of flour and sugar leads her able to have inventive bakes that you can’t find any where else. If you don’t live near Flour like me, never fear there is one way to try her goods without stepping foot inside her bakery. I recently purchased her latest cookbook, Pastry Love. Pastry Love is filled with recipes from the bakery and a few of her personal favorites.

Burn Notice: Being Burned Has Never Been So Good

One of my favorite television shows has been off the air for several years, but thanks to the box collection of the seasons I can watch it anytime. Based off the current lack of new entertainment, a finished show that is amazing is better than rewatching old episodes on the air. This amazing show is Burn Notice, which you can find on Amazon Prime.

Brief : Say More with Less

As a blogger, writer, and marketer, my goal is to always make an impact. But how can one make an impact with the less words? Joseph McCormack decided to address this in his book, Brief. He wanted to explore making a bigger impact in our over sensitized world. We are constant assaulted by numerous distractions from our phones to life events. He says the key is to say less.

Queen of the Flowers: Book vs. Show

Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries are one of my favorite television shows to watch. I have probably rewatched the show more times than I care to admit. I love all the characters and stories so much. I can recite the episodes from memory. However, I am not the only fan out there in the world. I have watched the fan base grow and grow as this show has reached the global audiences around the world thanks to streaming services like Netflix. However, many fans do not know that this beloved series started as a book series by Kerry Greenwood.

I never thought I would have the opportunity to read one of the books in this series until I found Queen of the Flowers in my local library.  Miss Fisher must unwrap the mysterious disappearance of one of her flower maidens that she was in charge of while her daughter Ruth goes missing as well. This book is full of mystery and intrigue. The pages are filled with twist and turns. The unexpected and expected. Whatever is to come of the Honorable Miss Fisher and her household of misfits? Well, the only way to find out would be to read this tale wouldn’t it?
