Chef’s Table BBQ: Tales from the Pit Masters

Chef’s Table is one of my favorite documentary series. It gets to the core of the chefs behind some of the top restaurants around the world. The documentary series created a new spin off focusing on BBQ around the world. BBQ looks different in different parts of the world, but there is a common feature of fire. The people who master this type of cooking are often given the title of Pit-Master instead of Chef as they have a skill set that a Chef can’t match. Pit-Masters have an understanding of fire and food.

Somebody Feed Phil: Celebrate People and Food

It seems like food brings people together all over the world. It doesn’t matter the cuisine. Food fills hearts along with bellies. There is one show on Netflix that proves this to be true. Netflix has one show that proves this to be true. It is called Somebody Feed Phil.

Jerusalem: Travel Without Leaving Your Kitchen

With travel bans in place, world travelers like myself have gotten a little stir crazy. While others have turned to FOMO over social media, I turned to the cookbooks in order to transport myself far, far away. I have never been to Jerusalem and thought a stop over in my imagination might be exciting and brighten my gloomy days indoors. So, I opened the cookbook Jerusalem by Sami Tamimi and Yotam Ottolenghi.

Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore: Towering over Florence

One of my favorite churches that I have visited in Italy is the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is in Florence, Italy and you can’t miss it. This church stands proudly over nearby buildings and has towers, baptistery, and other amazing buildings included with the cathedral. It is amazing on the outside and on the inside. There is even a museum next door that includes information of the creation and preservation of the cathedral. However, that is not the only reason to visit this church.

Wicked: Good Intentions Never Go Unpunished

One of the first Broadway plays that I watched in New York was the ever popular and famous Wicked about 5 years ago. If you are not familiar with the story, then you are missing out. Wicked is a unique take on the story from Wizard of Oz. The story of what happened before Dorthy dropped in.

Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie: Piece of Paris in Dallas, Texas

I recently found a little piece of France in Downtown Dallas. The cute little wicker tables on the sidewalk are an iconic reference to the little tables in Paris. But the flash back to Paris is not the only reason I traveled to Downtown, I actually was here for the sweet delicious treats.

Bisous Bisous Pâtesserie has an arrangement of French baked goods. That means delicious macaroons, tarts, cakes, and croissants. They also serve delicious cafe drinks to go with your sweet treat. An unique feature of the shop is that they also offer cooking classes so you can learn how to  make their delicious treats. The photos on Instagram looked so amazing. So me and a friend got a round of coffee and a tray of delicious treats to dine on.

The Mona Lisa: Stuff You Should Know

The Mona Lisa is one of the most famous paintings in the world. She was created by the master, Leonardo Da Vinci. I say this painting in person in 2017 when I visited Paris. She was a beautiful lady with a true representation of Da Vinci’s style. However, you can’t help but wonder several things while staring at Mona Lisa.

Questions like who was she and why is this painting more famous than the others? Thankful the guys at Stuff You Should Know decide to answer those questions.

Pecan Lodge: The Best BBQ Ever

I am a BBQ snob. It may have to do with growing up in Texas, but I think it more has to do with being a foodie. It is hard to impress with me with subpar BBQ so when I say that this is the best BBQ ever, you can trust my words. Now if you have never heard of Pecan Lodge then I feel sorry for you. It has been in D magazines top 50 restaurants for many years, featured on Food Network, Dallas local legend, and much more.

Dallas Zoo: Exploring Animals from All Over the World

I love going to the zoo. I love seeing the animals and supporting the conservation efforts being made at the zoo. Recently, I visited the Dallas Zoo with family one lazy winter day. I thought I would share with you my experience there as well as a few tips I have for you when you go.
