Gem Goddess: A Message From Beyond

In times of uncertainty, it is interesting the things we turn to for reassurance of a promising tomorrow. For me, I turn to tarot cards. It sounds silly but why not try something more silly if it reassuring to the listeners. I don’t own my own set of tarot cards or know all the oracle meanings of them so I rely on other’s readings.

Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore: Towering over Florence

One of my favorite churches that I have visited in Italy is the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is in Florence, Italy and you can’t miss it. This church stands proudly over nearby buildings and has towers, baptistery, and other amazing buildings included with the cathedral. It is amazing on the outside and on the inside. There is even a museum next door that includes information of the creation and preservation of the cathedral. However, that is not the only reason to visit this church.

Language of Transformation: Oprah Edition

This is my year that I have been focused on transforming myself into a happier and healthier version of myself. One way I hope to do that is through changing the way I speak about myself. It seems like an easy goal for the new year, but it is hard. I know that I am not alone on this goal when I cam across Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations with Bishop T.D. Jakes. And you know that if Oprah promotes it then it is going to be amazing.

God Needs No Passport: Religion and Globalization

Spirituality is consider a corner stone of humanity. How we express that spirituality may fall under the organized categories of religion. As the borders between each country and culture blur, how the world thinks of religion has changed with it. The world has become fractured along the lines of our difference but we come together over our similarities. Peggy Levitt explores this in her book, “God Needs No Passport”.

Last Supper, the Last Stop

Leonardo Di Vinci is probably one of the most famous artist that emerged out of the Italian Renaissance. He was fascinated by a variety of academic subjects outside of his artistic pursuit. He traveled all over Italy completing work for some of the most powerful families at the time. People can recognize his unique style on sight. Some can name and describe several of his most famous masterpieces. I personally love his unique style towards painting and pursuing several subjects of study. So when I landed in the city of Milan this summer, I was determined to see one of his most famous pieces of work. This master piece was the Last Supper in the Convent of Santa Maria.

The Story of God with Morgan Freeman

All over the world, humans believe in a variety of belief system. Each belief system has an over watching figure that guides our moral compasses and ways of life. God is defined by a variety of ways but the role God plays in our life doesn’t change. We seek God to help guide our actions and explain the unexplainable. Growing up, I went to church, temples, and other religious sites to look for God. Last year, I made the decision to start my awakening as a Buddhist as it was closer to how I see God in the world. When I started my journey on discovering my faith that there seems to be these underlying questions that each faith had answers for. The most shocking is that these answers that were given to me had many similar despite the obvious differences. I always wondered if I was the only one who asked these questions, and I recently found out.

Self-Love, the Art of How to See Yourself As You Really Are

Look at the person next you. What do you see? Do you see someone beautiful? Do you see someone that looks down on their luck? However, what you see isn’t necessarily who they are. The same thing can be said about you out in the world. We all have this ideal image that we continuously strive for, but we encounter unhappiness when that image doesn’t become our reality.
