The Devil’s Highway: Immigrants’ Trials to Better Life

I think sometimes it is important to do something that humbles us. It reminds us of our own humanity needs. I was humble by reading the immigration story of a group of immigrants from Mexico to the United States called The Devil’s Highway. The book reveals the trails experienced by the immigrants, the perspective of those protecting the border, and the government officials involved in the aftermath of those that dare try to cross the Devil’s Highway. It is jarring how the similar and different each perspective is within the narration of this tale. The Devil’s Highway ruthless nature affecting everyone, and still remains unchanged to today.

It is wonderfully written in a style that is similar to the novels so it is easier to read for those that prefer novel over biographies. The narration leaves you changed chapter after chapter. It is a read that you won’t forget anytime soon.
