Ratched emerged into Netflix with a bang. The show is adapted from the novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Ratched focuses on the development of the character of Nurse Ratched from the book before the novel starts. In the show, she turns from a unassuming nurse until she becomes the monster to her patients that she was in the novel. I was not an immediate fan as I just didn’t understand how this show was going to play out with all it’s complexities. However, fans raved and raved enough to peak my intrigues. Fans started celebrating the femme fatale lead for bringing to life this highly conflicted nurse on the screen. They also celebrate the diverse cast for playing characters that were in no means simple. It kept you on the edge of your seat.
From the opening scene to the closing moments of the season, fans had to figure out if the nurse was truly the angel of mercy or the grim reaper of destruction. The darkness is twisted within the humanitarian moments that blur the lines within the story more. It leaves you begging for season 2. So why not visit the hospital of horror via Ratched?
