Cold Case Files is a series built around the re-examination of long-unsolved crimes and the journeys of law enforcement personnel who reopened them. If you love true crime then you will love this show. I finished it in a week on one of my Netflix binges. It embodies the way investigations unravel with witnesses, new information, and science helping lead detectives in new directions. Directions that lead to the conviction of the perpetrators of those crimes. Crimes that had previously been unsolved for many years. The conviction of these criminals give the family the closure they seek and the community of the victims find peace at long last.
I was fascinated at the Cold Case Files showing the evolution of the forensic science. I thought it was also nice to show the dedication of the detectives in solving these old cases that someone could have left alone when the cases dried up of leads. I think this is important to show because the news feed directed at the police force shows often a depiction of an uncaring military like force, but the men and women from the police force do care. They made it their mission to catch their criminal. They truly wanted to find justice.
So here is how I would do a night of Cold Case Files, grab a blanket, some popcorn, and maybe your deer stocker if you are feeling Holmes like. Then simply hit play and discover justice even if it is years later.
