I feel like as I grow older the more and more my phone is glued to my side. Why? Well, I have an addiction. An addiction to social media. I love seeing what is happening in the world and catching up with my friends you are near and far. Social Media has opened the world to so many. It allows for anything to be shared in an instant and for anyone with an idea or voice to be heard. Some use this power for good. Others use this power for bad or not for much at all. With thousands to millions of accounts out there on the great web across all different platforms, I thought I would cover my favorite social media outlet along with my favorite accounts on it.

My favorite social media platform is Instagram. I love the colorful photos or videos and the conversation that can be generated around such photographs. You can find new little hideaways or delicious eats. You can see evidence of world wide events going on. You can share little snapshots of your life with friends and family. It is probably why I mostly use my Instagram account (@cultureadventurer) to connect with my followers. Now I do have a few accounts that I always check on while I am online. They are listed below.

The Dogist

The Dogist was created in 2013 by Elias Weiss Friedman, whose goal was to create a happy place on the internet for dog lovers. This account and brand has evolved over the years to help support shelters and show service animals in their element. The share the stories of people and their dogs. The heart break when we lose them and the laughter we share over their mischief. Dogs are man’s best friend for a reason, and as a dog lover I couldn’t agree more. (Though I still think Belle is the cutest!)

D Magazine

D Magazine is city magazine publisher that lives both on and off the page. They explore, test, invest, and launch continually, responding through multiple platforms to the evolving needs of a fast-growing city. The articles are amazing and relevant to the ever growing city I call home. It also helps me discover new events or activities happening

Dallas Sites 101

Dallasites101 began with two women, Lily and Kara, organically sharing their adventures on Instagram in 2015, one year after they both moved to Dallas. They recognized the need to go beyond the ‘gram and create real experiences between businesses and Dallasites. From happy hours to bar crawls to yoga classes and beyond, they have hosted countless events that have cultivated personal relationships, increased local business sales and awareness, and fostered a sense of community.  Dallasites101 aims to make Dallas a more accessible and fun place to live through daily content about everything involved in integrating into life here, from events to music to food to fitness and beyond!

The Dodo

The Dodo’s goal is to serve up emotionally and visually compelling, highly sharable animal-related stories and videos to as many people as possible to help make caring about animals a viral cause. Their motto is for animal people and I love about every story they publish. I am a giant softie at heart and my heart strings are pulled consistently with each post.

Emma Watson

Emma Watson is s an English actress and model. You probably recognize her as Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series. She is big advocator for positive change in the world for human rights and beyond. She has talked with world leaders about current events and consistently talks about her view points about  how she thinks change should happen. She is more than a pretty face and proves it not only through the fashion photographs and movies she acts in. For example, she buys books and distributes them to those who would like to educate themselves. I love seeing this amazing woman’s account because she is always apart of something greater.
